Lesson 2 - First Position Fingering

This is where we learn some of the building blocks that give us a solid basis for learning this incredible instrument. The fingering that we learn in what we call 1st position are all "natural" notes, meaning that we are not dealing with altering the notes in any way yet. We will get to that in due time. For now we need to know what the notes are, what they are called, and where they correspond to our fingers on the guitar neck.  This section encompasses only the first 3 frets of the guitar and we learn the musical alphabet and the corresponding numbers that relate to our fingers on the guitar neck in 1st position. If you are a beginner, you need to memorize this as it will form a solid basis for many things to come. Follow the fingering as shown and you will see the benefit of is as we move along in the lessons.

Guitar Pieces in the End

I love how these lessons end, with a short masterful performance, showcasing just what can be done on the guitar. It's all very inspiring. Hope to be able to play like you some day, Frank!
