As we continue our series on guitar exercises we're going to take a look at ways to increase the flexability of your fingers using stretches!

 

Below you can see all 24 possible permutations of the four note exercise we covered in lesson 1 & lesson 2.

We’re going to use these permutations as we practice our stretches. Play them just as you would according to the first couple of lessons but now add the skipping of a fret into the mix. Let’s take a look at them next.

Practice Method 1 adds a stretch between your first two fingers.

^=up pick, v = down pick

Practice Method 2 (the hardest one in my opinion) adds a stretch in between your second and third fingers.

And you guessed it, Practice Method 3 adds a stretch between your third and fourth fingers.
